Rodney Conover,Madison Conover Obituary, Death; – Last week, three individuals lost their lives in an airplane crash located just south of West Yellowstone.
The aircraft took off from the West Yellowstone Airport with three passengers aboard shortly before midnight on Thursday, July 17. On Friday afternoon, around 1:40 p.m., West Yellowstone dispatch received a report concerning a potential plane crash. The U.S. Department of Transportation Aero Division indicated that the aircraft, which had three individuals on board, was untraceable.
By utilizing the last known position from one passenger’s smartwatch, search aircraft were dispatched and swiftly discovered the wreckage in thick timber south of West Yellowstone, close to South Plateau Road, at 2:13 p.m. Gallatin County Search and Rescue arrived at the crash site and verified that all three individuals had perished in the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Rodney Conover, aged 60, and Madison Conover, aged 23, both hailing from Tennessee, along with Kurt Enoch Robey, aged 55, from Utah. Notifications have been made to their respective next of kin.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Gallatin County Sheriff Dan Springer expressed appreciation to all agencies that participated in the search, recovery operations, and the ongoing investigation. The organizations involved included the Hebgen Basin Rural Fire District, U.S. Forest Service, FAA, and NTSB.
