Puneet Singh Sohi,Dr Premjeet Brar Obituary, Death; – Two of the three people killed in a head-on crash Friday in Yuba County have been identified.

Puneet Singh Sohi and Dr. Premjeet Brar, both of Roseville, died as the result of the head-on collision around 3:15 p.m. along Highway 70 north of Boyer Road, about eight miles north of Marysville.

Their two children, a 4-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl, were also involved in the crash. One of the children died from injuries they suffered in the crash, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office said, although it was unclear Tuesday morning which of the two passed away. ABC10 is working to gather that information.

Sohi was identified by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office. Brar was identified by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

Dr. Premjeet Brar is the name of a pediatric dentist in Roseville, and her photo on the Rockville Smiles website matches that of Veenu Brar Sohi, an event coordinator with the Rocklin Academy Gateway parent-school partnership.

A community GoFundMe identifying Veenu Sohi as a Roseville pediatric dentist seeks to raise money for her and Puneet Sohi’s children; the fundraiser has collected almost $370,000 of a $1 million goal as of around noon Tuesday.

Puneet Sohi reportedly worked as an I.T. engineer and had a passion for the Punjabi dance bhangra, according to the GoFundMe.
The California Highway Patrol said a man was driving a Toyota Camry south when he lost control, entered the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Honda CR-V.

Both vehicles were found with major front-end damage when emergency personnel arrived, officers said.

Sohi, the driver of the Honda CR-V, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brar, a passenger in the CR-V, was taken to Enloe Medical Center in Chico where she died from her injuries. The children CR-V passengers were reportedly taken to UC Davis Medical Center.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Camry — identified as an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both from Brentwood — suffered major injuries in the crash and were taken to Adventist Health and Rideout Hos

It is unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, according to law enforcement. The crash shut down Highway 70 between Boyer Road and Ramirez Road for about two and a half hours.
