Deborah Wright Obituary, Death; – The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual discovered deceased following a house fire that occurred early on July 8 in Hopewell.

Fire investigators located Deborah Wright, aged 70, within the residence located at 3915 Stoddard Road after the fire was reported at 2:35 a.m., as stated by deputies. She was subsequently transported to Geneva General Hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of her death.

The other resident of the house, Michael Wright, aged 66, managed to escape the home and contacted 911 from a nearby location. Wright was taken by a Canandaigua Emergency Squad team to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua for treatment of injuries sustained in the fire, according to deputies.

Deputies reported that Wright has since been discharged.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Ontario County Fire Coordinators Office. The Sheriff’s Office, along with the Ontario County Coroners Office, is providing assistance in the investigation.

Firefighters from Hopewell, Canandaigua, Veterans Affairs, Seneca Castle, Oaks Corners, and Shortsville responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.
