Thomas Ray Archibald,Brody Garner Obituary, Death; Officials identify two men killed in separate Madison County crashes over the weekend

Thomas Ray Archibald,Brody Garner Obituary, Death; – Madison County officials have disclosed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives on Sunday in separate tragic accidents. Madison County Coroner Sam Butikofer has identified the 23-year-old from Rigby as Brody Garner, who passed away early Sunday morning.

As per a news release from the Idaho State Police, Garner was operating a 2025 Kawasaki EX500 westbound on 7800 South at approximately 1 a.m. when he was unable to navigate a curve and subsequently crashed.
Garner was wearing a helmet; however, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Idaho State Police received assistance from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County Fire and EMS, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Air Idaho.

A news release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office has identified the driver involved in the fatal incident on Idaho Highway 33 as Thomas Ray Archibald, 69, from Rexburg.

According to the news release, the accident took place around noon on Sunday, when deputies were dispatched to a collision near the Sportsman’s Gun Range on ID-33.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that a truck with a trailer was turning south onto East Butte Road when a vehicle driven by Archibald attempted to pass the truck but was unsuccessful.
Archibald’s vehicle collided with the truck, causing it to veer off the roadway and roll into a ditch.

“Bystanders and deputies commenced CPR on the driver of the second vehicle until emergency medical services arrived. Despite their lifesaving efforts, the driver was later pronounced dead at the scene,” the release indicates.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
