Michael Urbani Obituary, Death;- Authorities are requesting the public’s help following a deadly hit-and-run incident involving a motorcyclist on Interstate 10 in Moss Point.

As reported by the Moss Point Police Department, with assistance from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the event took place on the evening of Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Officers arrived at the scene just before 9 p.m. near mile markers 68 and 69 on I-10 westbound.

Initial investigations indicated that a black Chevrolet Malibu collided with a motorcycle from behind, resulting in the rider crashing onto the roadway. Shortly thereafter, an all-white 18-wheeler, also traveling west, is suspected of striking the fallen motorcyclist. Both vehicles left the scene without stopping.

The motorcyclist, identified as 62-year-old Michael Urbani from Vancleave, Mississippi, was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently seeking any information that could assist in identifying the two vehicles involved. One was a black Chevrolet Malibu (license plate unknown) and the other was an all-white 18-wheeler (make and model unknown).

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information regarding the vehicles or drivers involved is encouraged to contact the Moss Point Police Department at 228-475-1711 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-888-8CRIMES (1-888-827-4637). Tipsters can remain anonymous.

“This is a tragic incident, and we are pursuing every lead to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice,” stated Chief Brandon Ashley. “We urge anyone who may have been in the vicinity or has dashcam footage to come forward.”

Authorities have indicated that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
