Amanda Hewitt Obituary, Death; – The coroner has confirmed the identity of the pedestrian who lost their life in a collision on Highway 501 in April.
Amanda Hewitt, aged 38, from Conway, passed away on April 10 after being struck, as stated by Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard. The incident occurred on Highway 501 during the morning of April 10, situated between West Perry Road and Legends Road.
The vehicle involved in the incident was identified as a 2025 Freight Liner Tanker Truck, according to Nick Pye from the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
On April 11, authorities announced that they were seeking additional information regarding the accident and any other vehicles that may have been involved.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol conducted an investigation into the crash, with assistance from the Horry County Police Department at the scene.
The victim’s identification was verified through DNA analysis, as reported by Willard.
