Chunfeng Chu Obituary, Death; – A driver struck and fatally injured a 72-year-old woman from Northfield who was riding a bicycle on Saturday.
According to the Northfield Police Department, an Oldsmobile Aurora was heading west on Woodley Street when the driver collided with a bicyclist traveling south on Water Street at approximately 6:50 p.m.
The bicyclist, identified as Chunfeng Chu, aged 72, from Northfield, was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she subsequently passed away.
The driver of the Oldsmobile has been identified as a 56-year-old man from Northfield. He did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
The Northfield Police Department reports that Chu was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Motorists on Woodley Street have the right of way, while Water Street is regulated by stop signs.
