Hunter Parks Obituary, Death; – Ocala police have identified a man who was tragically killed when a large oak tree collapsed on him during a storm on Thursday.
First responders were called to the scene at approximately 2:57 p.m. in the 700 block of SW 46th Avenue, where Hunter Parks, 37, was subsequently pronounced dead, according to a statement from the Ocala Police Department. Parks, described by the police department as a landscaper for Grandview Landscaping Services, was near the tree with a co-worker just before it fell, as stated in the report.
Both individuals fled from the tree upon hearing it start to crack, with the co-worker running in one direction and Parks in another, which ultimately placed Parks in the trajectory of the falling tree, police reported.
