Rodney Shippy Obituary, Death; – Broken Arrow Police have identified the deceased man and 10-year-old boy, who were discovered following a suspected murder-suicide, as father and son. They also confirmed that the man is the father of a woman who is currently missing.
According to FOX23, Broken Arrow Police are looking into a potential murder-suicide after officers were dispatched to a residence near West Roanoke Street and South Ash Avenue to execute a warrant related to the case of 20-year-old Alyssa Shippy, who has been missing since November 2024, on Wednesday.
Broken Arrow Police confirmed that Shippy is the granddaughter of Kenneth Carpenter and Diane Carpenter, who were involved in a murder-suicide incident in Broken Arrow in 2023.
Upon arrival, police reported that officers discovered a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, along with a deceased boy and a dog.
Due to the state of the residence, investigators later located a third body, which is believed to be an adult female. Authorities stated that the medical examiner will conduct a thorough investigation to confirm the identity of the woman.
The man has been identified by Broken Arrow Police as 58-year-old Rodney Shippy. The boy has been identified as his 10-year-old son, recognized by other family members as Logan.
The identity of the woman found deceased in the home will remain undisclosed until the medical examiner’s report is completed, according to Broken Arrow Police. Police have confirmed that Alyssa Shippy is the daughter of Rodney Shippy.
