Ethan Austin Obituary, Death; The individual who lost his life in a shooting incident on May 9 in the 2700 block of Broadway has been confirmed as a 19-year-old resident of Rockford. According to law enforcement, the shooting occurred at 12:20 a.m.
Officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to a local hospital following a report of a shooting victim arriving by foot, as stated in a news release. The victim succumbed to his injuries shortly after reaching the hospital. It was reported to the officers that the shooting ensued during a confrontation in the parking lot of Broadway Food & Liquor, located at 2710 Broadway.
The Winnebago County Coroner’s office has identified the deceased as Ethan Austin, 19, from Rockford. The coroner’s office noted that Austin was transported from the parking lot of Broadway Food & Liquor to the hospital by a private vehicle. Despite receiving medical attention for his injuries, he was pronounced dead at 12:47 a.m.
