Mairunnisa B Osman Obituary, Death; – The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the woman who was fatally stabbed in a Northwest Side incident on Saturday.
Mairunnisa B. Osman, 29, succumbed to multiple sharp force injuries, as reported by the medical examiner’s office on Monday. She resided on the same block where the stabbing took place. Her death has been classified as a homicide. The incident occurred around 11:24 p.m. on Saturday in the 2700-block of West Balmoral Avenue in Budlong Woods, according to police reports.
A 35-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were reportedly engaged in an argument when the man allegedly brandished a knife and stabbed her, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD). Upon their arrival, officers discovered the woman inside a residence with a stab wound to her torso. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later passed away.
The suspect fled the scene but was subsequently apprehended by the police. Charges are forthcoming. No additional details regarding the case are currently available. Detectives from CPD Area Three are conducting the investigation.
