Edwin Allsup,Emma Allsup Obituary, Death; – A tragic house fire in Jacksonville resulted in the deaths of an elderly couple early Sunday morning. The incident took place in the 4000 block of Roy Webb Road and is currently being investigated by the state fire marshal.
Coroner Pat Brown has identified the victims as Edwin Allsup, aged 95, and Emma Allsup, aged 91. Brown confirmed that both individuals died from smoke inhalation and thermal burns.
Jacksonville Fire Chief Keith Kadle reported that his team was the first to respond to the scene, although the area is under the jurisdiction of the Knightens Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department. “We are always willing to support any agency in the vicinity,” Kadle remarked. “The loss of life is always a tragic event.”
The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and the investigation is being led by the state fire marshal’s office. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
