Calvin Dye Sr Atwood Obituary, Death; – The St. Clair County Coroner’s office identified the unresponsive victim discovered inside a vehicle after a traffic accident in Fairview Heights on Tuesday. Carolyn S. Atwood, a 70-year-old resident of the 300 block of Pine Lake Road in Collinsville, was named by Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. Atwood was pronounced dead at 11:33 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.
According to a news release from the Fairview Heights police, officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Illinois Street and Salem Place to investigate a reported traffic collision that occurred around 11 a.m. Upon arrival, police found one individual involved in the incident, unresponsive and trapped inside the vehicle.
Fairview Heights police officers extricated Atwood from the car and promptly initiated life-saving efforts, as stated in the release. The Metro-East Crash Assistance Team is currently aiding in the investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the accident. The Fairview Heights Police Department extended their condolences to Atwood’s family.
