Gerber Danilo Panteleon-Palencia Obituary, Death; – A man from Nashville has been confirmed as the victim of a fatal shooting in East Texas, as reported by local authorities.

The Nacogdoches Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of North Popp Street on Thursday around 1 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in the front yard of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as 33-year-old Gerber Danilo Panteleon-Palencia from Nashville, Tennessee, managed to provide police with information regarding the events leading up to the shooting before being transported to a hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, Panteleon-Palencia passed away later that night at the hospital. According to the NPD, he was in the area visiting family at the time of the incident.

The police arrested 17-year-old Hernan Cuarenta of Nacogdoches on Thursday, charging him with aggravated assault and theft of a firearm related to the shooting. Following Panteleon-Palencia’s death, the aggravated assault charge was elevated to first-degree murder.

Cuarenta is currently being held at the Nacogdoches County jail.
