James Williams Obituary, Death; – A driver died a little over a week after suffering injuries in a fiery traffic accident in McDuffie County. James Williams, 26, of Dearing, died Sunday night at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, according to McDuffie County Coroner Paul Johnson.

The crash happened Aug. 29 on Augusta Highway, U.S. 78, when Williams was driving a Honda sedan that firefighters said crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, and no autopsy is scheduled, according to Johnson. He’s among eight people who’ve died since Friday after traffic accidents across the region. The other fatal accidents – including an ATV crash that killed two kids – happened in Edgefield, Saluda and Orangeburg counties.
