Donald Edwin Hale Obituary, Death; – A man from Florence, previously accused of assaulting another individual in February, now faces a murder charge.
According to the Florence police, the victim, 59-year-old Donald Edwin Hale, passed away from his injuries on Monday. On February 3 at approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding a man who had been brutally beaten and left in the street at the intersection of West Mobile and North Locust streets.
Subsequent investigations led to the identification of 47-year-old Fredrick Maurice Ingram as a suspect. Ingram was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder on February 11; however, following Hale’s death, the charge was elevated to murder on Tuesday. Ingram was already in custody at the Lauderdale County Detention Center and is currently being held without bond.
