Carol Flaz-Burgos Obituary, Death; – Residents of Lawrence, Massachusetts, convened on Thursday to honor the memory of a woman who was discovered deceased after being reported missing.

A large crowd gathered for a vigil to commemorate 37-year-old Carol Flaz-Burgos, who vanished from her apartment building on Saturday. Her remains were located on Tuesday in a conservation area in Haverhill.

Authorities have taken her neighbor, Cristian Montero, into custody. Currently, he faces charges of witness intimidation for allegedly providing false information to investigators. However, prosecutors indicate that these charges may be escalated.

“She was someone who cared deeply for her family,” remarked Flaz-Burgos’ employer, Denise Vasquez.

Vasquez noted that Flaz-Burgos was passionate about her role as a home health aide, and her patients are heartbroken by her loss. “All of her clients remember her as a wonderful individual,” Vasquez stated. “She established strong relationships with each of them.”

Investigators continue to gather details regarding the circumstances surrounding her death. The Essex County District Attorney has reported that Flaz-Burgos was last captured on surveillance footage making the sign of the cross as she entered Montero’s apartment, but there is no record of her exiting.

Authorities are awaiting the results of the autopsy to ascertain the cause of her death. Depending on the findings, prosecutors have indicated that Montero is likely to face a murder charge.
