Krishan Kumar Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost their life in a collision involving a tractor-trailer on Tuesday night in Lehigh County.

Krishan Kumar, a 32-year-old resident of Upper Macungie Township, was declared deceased at approximately 8 p.m. at the crash site located at the intersection of Route 100 and Schaefer Run Road, as reported by Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. According to Buglio, the cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries, classified as accidental in nature.

Upper Macungie police indicated that Kumar was traveling north on Schaefer Run Road while the tractor-trailer was heading south on Route 100. Both vehicles reportedly entered the intersection simultaneously.

Initial investigations revealed that the passenger vehicle failed to stop at the red light prior to the collision, as stated in a police news release.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 31-year-old individual from Easton, along with the tractor-trailer driver, a 39-year-old from Florida, were both transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries, according to police reports.

The Upper Macungie police department, in conjunction with the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, is conducting an investigation into the incident. Individuals with any information regarding the crash are encouraged to contact the police at 484-661-5911.
