James Michael Lescord Obituary, Death; – Largo authorities are currently investigating a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 9 p.m., officers responded to the scene located at 2650 Roosevelt Boulevard, near U.S. Highway 19, where a vehicle struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the street, as reported in a news release from the Largo Police Department. The driver fled the scene following the collision.

In a subsequent update provided on Thursday afternoon, law enforcement identified the deceased pedestrian as 56-year-old James Michael Lescord and indicated that the vehicle involved in the incident is believed to be a dark-colored Ford or Mercury SUV.

Shortly after the initial collision, another vehicle traveling west on Roosevelt Boulevard struck Lescord while he was lying in the roadway. The driver of this vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Highlander, stopped and remained at the scene, showing no signs of impairment, according to police reports.

As part of the investigation, authorities closed a portion of Roosevelt Boulevard for several hours. Largo police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the department at 727-587-6730.
