Michael Clemens Obituary, Death; – The Philadelphia Police Department is actively seeking the individual believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting of a man in Old City on Wednesday evening. Authorities reported that 33-year-old Michael Clemens was shot around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of South 2nd and Chestnut streets, an area bustling with numerous bars and restaurants.
Surveillance footage captured Clemens approaching the driver’s side of a vehicle, after which the door opened and he collapsed to the ground. Clemens sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the neck, chest, and torso. He was transported to Jefferson Hospital, where he was declared deceased shortly after midnight.
According to police, at least five shots were discharged from a semi-automatic firearm. Officers discovered a handgun near Clemens, but it remains unclear whether it belonged to him or the assailant. Currently, law enforcement does not have a clear motive for the shooting.
