Jamarco Dye Obituary, Death; – A man is facing several charges following the shooting death of a teenager at an apartment complex in Bowling Green early Sunday morning.

The Bowling Green Police Department reported that officers responded to a call regarding gunfire in the 100 block of Audley Avenue shortly after 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 26. Upon their arrival, authorities discovered a teenage boy deceased from multiple gunshot wounds in the backyard of the complex. The victim was later identified as 16-year-old Jamarco Dye.

Police stated that 22-year-old Tylan J. Barnett informed detectives that he had gone to the apartment complex after his sister reached out to him on the evening of Saturday, January 25, expressing concerns that someone might be attempting to break into the residence. Barnett allegedly observed two individuals outside and believed they were the same individuals he had seen earlier.

He then exited the building with his firearm, noticed one person fleeing from the rear of the residence, and discharged multiple rounds at a second individual who was also attempting to escape. Furthermore, Barnett reportedly confessed to leaving the firearm concealed in the brush near the apartments.

Barnett is currently being held at the Warren County Regional Jail, facing charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
