Zahkir Whitfield Obituary, Death; – Law enforcement authorities have released a photograph and identified one of the suspects in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy on a SEPTA bus in West Philadelphia last weekend.
On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, police made public an image of 17-year-old Zayki Davis, seeking assistance in locating him due to his alleged involvement in the incident that resulted in the death of Zahkir Whitfield, 15, from Upper Darby.
According to police reports, the shooting occurred shortly after a group of teenagers engaged in a fight around 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the rear of a bus operating on the Route 15 trolley line near 40th Street and Girard Avenue.
The bus driver intervened by stopping the vehicle and instructing the teenagers involved in the dispute to disembark. As they left the bus, one individual reportedly turned and discharged a firearm into the vehicle.
This single gunshot, as stated by officials, struck Davis in the chest, resulting in his death. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this case, according to police.
