Vicente Catellanos Rodriguez Obituary, Death; – A construction worker tragically lost his life following a collision on the freeway in the West Valley.
The incident occurred at 5:15 a.m. on November 13 on the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 35th Avenue.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, 64-year-old Vicente Catellanos Rodriguez, a resident of Tolleson, was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the on-ramp to access a construction site located on the north shoulder of the freeway.
Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital. The Department of Public Safety reports that he was employed by a local construction firm engaged in upgrading the freeway.
The on-ramp was closed to facilitate the investigation.
