Tiffanie Lucas Arrested; – Tiffanie Lucas, a mother from Shepherdsville, was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday in Bullitt Circuit Court for the alleged murder of her two children last November.
A representative from Bullitt County Circuit Criminal Court confirmed that Judge Rodney Burress imposed the life sentence on Lucas during the proceedings. In late October, Lucas entered a guilty plea to the murder charges after initially pleading not guilty by reason of insanity in September.
The charges against her stemmed from an incident in November when deputies responded to reports of gunfire at her residence. Upon arrival at the home located on Bentwood Drive, they discovered her sons, aged 6 and 9, with gunshot wounds in a bedroom. The children were transported to Norton’s Children’s Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.
According to the arrest citation, a witness at the scene identified Lucas as the shooter, and a firearm was recovered from the room where the children were found. Prior to her sentencing, she had been held at the Bullitt County Detention Center on a cash bond of $2 million.
