Tamiko Mobley,Tiaja Mobley Obituary, Death; – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has announced that an arrest has been made in connection with the double homicide that occurred in Quitman on Friday morning. At approximately 9:42 a.m., the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI’s assistance regarding the double murder that took place on Shiver Road.
According to the GBI, deputies were the first to arrive at the scene, where they discovered two women who had been shot inside the residence. The victims were identified as 48-year-old Tamiko Mobley and her 25-year-old daughter, Tiaja Mobley.
Tamiko was not a resident of the home but had been staying with her daughter following a dispute with her husband the previous night, as reported by the GBI.
An additional male victim was also found at the scene. He had sustained gunshot wounds but fortunately did not suffer any life-threatening injuries; he was injured by debris from objects struck by the bullet. Both deceased individuals have been transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon for autopsy examinations.
The GBI has identified the suspect as Wilbert Mobley, Jr., a 44-year-old resident of Brooks County. He is the husband of Tamiko and the father of Tiaja.
Wilbert was apprehended outside the residence by Quitman Police, who were assisting Brooks County deputies in response to the 911 emergency call.
He has been charged and booked into the Brooks County Jail on multiple counts, including:
– Two counts of malice murder
– Two counts of felony murder
– Three counts of aggravated assault
– Three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
