Susan Lane-Fournier Obituary, Death; – A woman from Oregon, who vanished along with her two dogs, was discovered deceased weeks after initiating divorce proceedings against her husband, as reported by authorities.
Susan Lane-Fournier, aged 61, was thought to have embarked on a hiking trip with her dogs. She was reported missing on November 22, after failing to arrive at her workplace.
The following day, a local resident located her pickup truck parked near East Salmon River Road and the Green Canyon Way Trail, situated south of Welches. This discovery prompted an extensive search and rescue operation that lasted several days.
On Friday, Lane-Fournier’s remains were located near a property owned by the couple in Brightwood, as indicated by divorce documents. Subsequent investigations revealed that her death was a result of homicide.
Shortly after the discovery of her body, detectives apprehended 71-year-old Michel Fournier, who has been charged with second-degree murder. Authorities confirmed that Lane-Fournier and Michel Fournier were still married at the time of her death, despite her having filed for divorce just two weeks prior to her disappearance.
Khalid Kamahwe, a colleague of Lane-Fournier at Hoodland Bazaar in Brightwood, stated that she had expressed fears for her safety. “In the weeks leading up to her disappearance, she was genuinely afraid for her life, which is why she always took her dogs with her,” Kamahwe remarked.
Authorities also recovered two bodies believed to belong to Lane-Fournier’s dogs, which have been sent to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office for identification confirmation. Investigators are seeking to interview anyone who may have seen Michel Fournier in the days leading up to her disappearance or who possesses information regarding his activities during the past week.
