Stanley Aviles-Espaillat Obituary, Death; – A 25-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in an alleged “high speed” collision on Sunday in the city has been identified by authorities.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the deceased as Stanley Aviles-Espaillat from Allentown. He was pronounced dead shortly after 8:15 a.m. on Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem.
Aviles-Espaillat succumbed to multiple blunt force injuries, and the death has been classified as accidental by Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
Allentown Police Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division, Stephen J. Milkovits III, stated that the crash took place around 3:20 a.m. in the 300 block of West Tilghman Street.
According to Milkovits, Aviles-Espaillat was traveling east on Tilghman Street at a high rate of speed.
Milkovits explained that the driver of a car was attempting to execute a U-turn on Tilghman Street when Aviles-Espaillat crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and collided with the vehicle.
Investigators found Aviles-Espaillat lying unconscious in the roadway. He was subsequently transported to the hospital, as reported by Milkovits.
Milkovits noted that the other driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The collision is currently under investigation by the Allentown Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
