Samantha Jo Moss Obituary, Death; – A woman who sustained injuries in a triple shooting at a homeless encampment in Minneapolis has become the third fatality resulting from the incident.
On October 27, Christopher Martell Washington, 38, from Fridley, and Louis Mitchell Lemons Jr., 32, from Brooklyn Center, were killed during the shooting, which occurred near some railroad tracks at the 4400 block of Snelling Avenue. Another woman was injured and subsequently transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased woman as Samantha Jo Moss, 35, from St. Louis Park. Her death has been classified as a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds. The alleged shooter, Earl Bennett, 40, was hospitalized after being shot by police in the Midway area of St. Paul on Monday.
In addition to the encampment shooting, Bennett is also believed to be responsible for another shooting that occurred on the 3500 block of Columbus Avenue South the previous Monday, which left a man in critical condition.
