Ronnie Hill Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost their life in the tornado that occurred on Friday morning in Washington County, Kentucky, has been named.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Ronnie Hill, 48, from Springfield, Kentucky, was the sole victim of the tornado. Additionally, 14 other individuals sustained injuries as a result of the tornado throughout Washington County.
Washington County is situated to the southwest of Lexington and is approximately a two-hour drive from Cincinnati. The National Weather Service has verified that the tornado was at least an EF-2, with wind speeds reaching a minimum of 125 mph. It carved a path of devastation across a five-mile stretch of land before finally dissipating in Mercer County.
As recovery operations progress, law enforcement officials have stated that Long Run Road in Washington County remains closed to the public to ensure a safe route for emergency responders and local residents to use without interference. Long Run Road, a rural thoroughfare located outside of Springfield, was one of the areas most severely impacted by the tornado.
Authorities have indicated that there were no tornado sirens present in the regions affected by the storm in Washington County. Furthermore, the Kentucky State Police have announced that there will be an increased police presence in the area throughout the recovery efforts.
