Raven Francis Obituary, – The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified a woman who was fatally shot in a Mid-City incident over the weekend on Tuesday morning. Raven Francis, aged 29, was killed in the early hours of Sunday.
Law enforcement officials responded to an emergency call at 2:45 a.m. following a confrontation between two groups at a business located in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue. An unidentified assailant fired upon one group as they attempted to flee, resulting in their vehicle colliding with a fire hydrant at the intersection of Baudin and South Solomon streets.
Emergency medical personnel attended to four individuals following the car accident. Francis, the fifth individual affected, was transported to the hospital via private means, where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries. No further details have been released at this time.
