Rafael Morales-Domingo Obituary, Death; – A woman from Cumberland County has been incarcerated on a murder charge following an incident in which she reportedly stabbed the father of her children during a confrontation on Sunday night in Bridgeton.
Law enforcement officials responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Atlantic Street shortly before 7 p.m., prompted by reports of a man yelling, as stated by Bridgeton Police. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim on the front porch of a residence, suffering from a stab wound to the upper chest near his left armpit. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified in a criminal complaint as Rafael Morales-Domingo; however, authorities have not disclosed his age or residence. Wendy Perez, 27, a resident of Bridgeton, has been arrested and charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. As of Monday, court records did not indicate that Perez had legal representation.
Investigators noted a blood trail leading from the second-floor apartment where Perez was located to the porch where the victim was found, according to the complaint. Perez reportedly informed investigators that she was in the apartment with her boyfriend when Morales-Domingo, the father of her children, entered, leading to an argument.
During the altercation, Morales-Domingo allegedly seized a knife, prompting Perez to take the knife from him and stab him, as she purportedly confessed to the police. Blood was discovered in the kitchen area, along with a kitchen knife found in the sink, according to the complaint. Perez has been taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
