Polly Olson hodge-Olson Obituary, Death; – A woman who lost her life in a rollover accident near I-94 has been recognized as a nurse and singer from Dexter.
Polly Olson, who was also known by her married name Hodge-Olson, passed away on Saturday, May 24, off I-94 near Jackson Road in Scio Township, located to the west of Ann Arbor.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police, responding to a crash alert from Ford Motor Co., discovered a tractor-trailer and an SUV parked on the right side of the freeway, as previously reported by the police. Both drivers informed the troopers that they had collided with an unidentified object.
One driver mentioned that she believed she saw headlights in the woods.
Olson’s vehicle was located crashed and overturned deep within the woods, according to police. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The object that the other vehicles struck was identified as the wheel assembly of the crashed 2021 Ford Expedition, police stated. Olson, aged 47, was described as a “gifted vocalist,” a labor and delivery nurse, and a mother of two, as per an obituary released by Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
She was known for her compassion and was referred to as a “safe haven” in her obituary.
She possessed a profound understanding of the human spirit — its imperfections, its humor, and its limitless capacity for love,” her obituary states. “She lived authentically, disregarding the superficial standards of contemporary success.”
She is survived by her children, parents, brothers, and other family members, according to her obituary. Authorities suspect that she was heading west on I-94 when the Expedition veered off the freeway into the woods, ultimately colliding with a tree. As of Friday, the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
