Maria Scheider Obituary, Death; – A multi-vehicle accident resulted in the death of one individual in Polk County on Friday afternoon. The incident took place on Highway 35, just south of 210th Avenue South in the village of Milltown.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash. Traffic had been slowing due to wildlife crossing the highway. A northbound pickup truck tried to avoid colliding with the slowing vehicles, which led to a crash with another vehicle. Subsequently, the pickup swerved into the southbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with an SUV.
The driver of the SUV was declared dead at the scene. In contrast, the driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, while the driver of the third vehicle involved experienced minor injuries.
Polk County officials have identified the deceased victim as Maria Scheider, a 48-year-old resident of Grantsburg.
