Manuel Cabral-Banuelos,Maria Cabral-Banuelos Obituary, Death;- A Kremmling family, comprising three young children, has been identified following their tragic deaths in a car accident on Highway 9, south of the town, on Monday.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), the driver of a Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Highway 9 when he veered into the southbound lane, colliding with a GMC Yukon heading south. The force of the collision resulted in both vehicles igniting.
First responders attempted to save the family in the Yukon, but unfortunately, all of them perished at the scene. The driver of the Ford F-150, a 25-year-old man from Parker, was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, as reported by CSP.
The Grand County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identities of the family members as follows:
Andres Cabral-Banuelos, age 2
Manuel Cabral-Banuelos, age 5
Maria Cabral-Banuelos, age 12
Andrea Banuelos-Salazar, age 30
Manuel Cabral-Torres, age 34
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol. The highway remained closed for several hours on Monday.
“The Grand County Coroner’s Office expresses its heartfelt condolences to the surviving family members, friends, and the entire community. The loss of an entire family represents an unimaginable tragedy, and our thoughts are with all those who are mourning during this profoundly challenging time,” stated the office.
The office also expressed gratitude to the first responders.
