Kurtis Wasik Obituary, Death; – Tributes have been paid to a Delano High School student who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Wright County on Sunday afternoon.
Kurtis Wasik, a 17-year-old senior and lacrosse player at Delano High School, died after colliding with a Honda Pilot while riding his motorcycle near the intersection of County Road 13 and County Road 30 in Wright County.
Reports indicate that the driver of the Honda was making a turn onto CR 30 Southeast when Wasik, traveling eastbound on CR 13, struck the vehicle. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist Wasik’s family with funeral expenses, raising a total of $33,287. His funeral service is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at Light of Christ Church in Delano.
“Our hearts are shattered as this should be a year filled with joyous celebrations, yet it has turned into a parent’s worst nightmare,” the message states. “I am confident that our resilient Delano community will come together to offer this remarkable family love, prayers, and strength during this challenging time.”;
dividuals within the Delano community have honored the young man, including a tribute posted on the Delano Lacrosse Facebook page, which commemorated Wasik.
“Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the loss of Kurtis, a friend, brother, and teammate,” the post expressed. “Our thoughts and support are with the Wasik family and our community in this trying time.” Additionally, the Delano/Rockford Girls High School hockey team dedicated their game on December 10 to the memory of Wasik.
