Julian Story Obituary, Death; – Australian authorities have requested assistance in locating the head of a man who was allegedly murdered by his partner, a former contestant on the reality television show Beauty and the Geek Australia.
Law enforcement officials stated that they have charged Tamika Chesser with murder following the discovery of 39-year-old Julian Story’s dismembered remains at an apartment in South Australia last week.
“The scene was distressing for police and emergency services personnel, as Julian’s body had been dismembered,” South Australia Police remarked in a statement released on Friday.
“Julian’s head was severed during the dismemberment, and despite thorough searches, it has not yet been found.” Authorities indicated that his remains were uncovered at a residence in Port Lincoln after they responded to reports of a fire, and they suspect he was killed around midnight on June 17.
Detectives have made public CCTV footage of Chesser, 34, to illustrate her attire during that period, and they have requested assistance in tracking her movements.
“Recovering Julian’s head to return it to his family for a peaceful resolution, allowing them to hold a funeral and lay him to rest, is a crucial priority for us,” Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke stated at a news conference. Chesser appeared via video link at the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday, as reported by local media, including the public broadcaster ABC.
The court has lifted a restriction that previously prevented her identification. She is scheduled to return to court in December. The grieving family of Story expressed their gratitude to the police, emergency responders, family, friends, and the community for their support.
“We are coping with an unimaginable loss, and your kindness has provided comfort amidst the turmoil,” the family conveyed in a statement. Chesser participated in the 2010 season of Beauty and the Geek Australia, a show that challenged contestants selected for their appearance or intelligence through various tasks.
