Joshua Emanuel Lamar Latimer,Destiny Shay Dionne Arrested; – Two individuals, including a trooper from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 4-year-old boy.
Emergency Services in Oconee County received a call to a residence at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Friday regarding a patient experiencing cardiac arrest. Shortly thereafter, the Oconee County Coroner’s Office was requested to respond.
As reported by the coroner, 4-year-old Isaiah Joseph Dionne was discovered unresponsive by his parents. The arrest warrants indicated that the child appeared to be underweight and malnourished.
The death of Isaiah has been classified as a homicide.
Authorities have charged 30-year-old Joshua Emanuel Lamar Latimer and Destiny Shay Dionne with two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child and homicide by child abuse.
The arrest warrants state that Latimer and Dionne placed Isaiah and a 2-year-old boy in an “unreasonable risk of harm.”
Following the revelation of his arrest, Latimer was dismissed from the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
