Jose Natividad Olmedo Obituary, Death; – The individual who tragically lost his life in a devastating accident on Loop 410 in the Northeast Side on Tuesday has been named.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that 36-year-old Jose Natividad Olmedo was declared deceased at 4:20 a.m. According to an initial report from the San Antonio police, Olmedo was operating an 18-wheeler in the eastbound lanes of Loop 410, situated between the I-35 interchange and Starcrest Drive, when he collided with a concrete barrier. The truck subsequently struck multiple road signs before overturning and igniting, as reported by the police.

Olmedo was pronounced dead at the scene. KSAT interviewed a rideshare driver who recorded the incident, and the footage is available in the video player above. Esteban Torres, the rideshare driver, recounted that the truck veered into the barrier, resulting in a loss of control. “It literally just exploded on impact,” Torres remarked. “Whether he fell asleep at the wheel or made a critical error, hitting something and losing control, it’s truly unfortunate.” Authorities indicated that the vehicle was the sole participant in the accident, and the cause remains undetermined.

Both the San Antonio police and the San Antonio Fire Department were dispatched to the location. Consequently, the incident led to road closures in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Loop 410 between the I-35 interchange and Starcrest Drive, with the lanes reopening nine hours post-accident.
