Jose Melendez Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old individual has been apprehended in relation to a murder that occurred in late December in northeast El Paso.

e Department, Alejandro Corral was taken into custody on December 30 after being identified as a suspect in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Jose Melendez at the North Mountain Village Apartments, situated at 9435 Diana Drive. Authorities believe that on the evening of December 21, Melendez attempted to intervene during a confrontation in the parking lot, which led to him being shot. Melendez was swiftly transported to the hospital; however, he succumbed to his injuries.
For several weeks, the El Paso Police Department sought assistance from the public in gathering information, ultimately leading to the identification of Corral as a suspect. Corral faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has been booked into the El Paso County Jail with a total bond set at $650,000.
