Joe Cornelius Sr,Keisha Miles Obituary, Death; – A tragic event unfolded last month in a small city in Louisiana, where a former mayor, Joe Cornelius Sr., aged 82, and his adult daughter, 31-year-old Keisha Miles, were both fatally shot, allegedly by Miles’ son.
According to Minden police, the bodies were discovered in Cornelius’ residence on September 1. The incident has deeply affected the local community. Authorities claim that Miles’ 11-year-old son has confessed to the shootings. (Due to his age, the boy’s name is not being disclosed.)
In a troubling development following the double homicide, exclusive videos obtained by PEOPLE, which were found by Miles’ 17-year-old son, Uriah Miles, seem to depict a confrontation between Miles and Cornelius regarding allegations of molestation. Uriah accessed these videos from Miles’ iCloud account after the tragic events.
The footage, reportedly recorded in 2021, shows Miles confronting Cornelius, accusing him of providing her with gifts in exchange for sexual favors.
“When you do things for me, you expect something in return. Like when you got the furniture, like when you got that car for me, you always wanted something in return and what you wanted was something sexual …right?” Miles questions Cornelius.
Initially, Cornelius remains silent but eventually responds, “Whatever it is, you mostly enjoyed it.” He appears unaware that he is being recorded. “No, I never did Joe, because I felt like I had to, in order to survive,” Miles retorts.
She proceeds to recount explicit details regarding what she claims her father demanded from her in exchange for material possessions. At one point, when Miles accuses him of “propositioning” her for sexual favors, Cornelius denies the allegation, stating, “I ain’t never said nothing like that.”
However, as Miles continues to press her claims, Cornelius seems to concede to the accusations of molestation. “You said you didn’t tell nobody about this. But you have,” he acknowledges. In response, Miles asserts, “You told me…you say…they will never believe you.”
