Jeremiah Johnson Obituary, Death; – Family members have identified the individual who was fatally shot on Monday night in an incident involving Barry County deputies.
The deceased has been named as Jeremiah Johnson. According to family members who spoke with News 8, Johnson was a veteran of the Army and had been dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. The Barry County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm on Kingsbury Road, close to M-43 Highway in Hope Township.
Authorities confirmed that one individual was shot and killed during the incident. However, they did not disclose the name of the victim on Monday, nor did they provide details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting. The investigation is being conducted by state police, and the deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave, which is a standard protocol in such cases.
