Jaylani Cole Obituary, Death; – A 20-year-old man from Brockton lost his life in a shooting incident that also left another individual injured outside the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Dedham during the early hours of Wednesday, June 25, as reported by the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.

The District Attorney’s office has identified the deceased as Jaylani Cole, 20, from Brockton. Another man, also aged 20, sustained injuries during the event.

Following several 911 calls, Dedham police discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of BJ’s on Route 1 shortly after 3:30 a.m.

The unidentified 20-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital for surgical treatment and is anticipated to recover from his injuries, according to the DA’s office. Cole was also transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“This is still an active and ongoing investigation. It is always a tragedy when a young life is taken. Our sympathies go out to Jaylani’s family and friends,” stated Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey in a press release.

As of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests had been made.
