Hector Maldonado Obituary, Death; – A worker at a cranberry bog in Bourne, who passed away on Friday following an industrial accident, has been named.
Hector Maldonado, 71, died on November 21 after becoming entangled in a piece of heavy machinery referred to as a bog sander, as reported by the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s office.
His colleagues managed to extricate him from the machine prior to the arrival of first responders, but he was declared dead at the scene, officials informed WCVB.
“The incident occurred in an outdoor industrial area primarily dedicated to cranberry cultivation. Therefore, we did respond. A physical rescue was not necessary as his coworkers successfully freed him from the equipment,” Deputy Fire Chief Shawn Silva stated to WCVB.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
