Eric Jones Obituary, Death; – Akron police, in conjunction with the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, are conducting an investigation following the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man on Thursday.
Officers arrived at a residence located in the 50 block of Colonial Hills Drive at approximately 6:45 p.m., where they discovered the victim on the kitchen floor suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound, as reported by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The individual was declared deceased at the scene at 7:05 p.m. The victim has been identified as Eric Jones, a resident of Akron. Authorities indicated that officers later located an individual in the Kenmore area who was believed to possess information regarding the incident. This individual was detained for questioning and subsequently released.
The Akron police have confirmed the recovery of one firearm in connection with the case.
