Eddie Washington Jr Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot on Wednesday night in Syracuse’s Near Westside.
Eddie Washington Jr., aged 40, from Syracuse, succumbed to his injuries at Upstate University Hospital after being discovered outside the James Geddes Housing complex with gunshot wounds to both the head and chest, as reported by Syracuse police spokesperson Sgt. Thomas Blake.
Law enforcement officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 300 block of Tully Street at approximately 9:36 p.m. on Wednesday.
Upon their arrival, they found a man near 317 Tully St. who was unconscious and not breathing, according to Onondaga County 911 dispatch reports.
Additionally, two vehicles were struck by gunfire during the incident.
Tully Street was closed off from Wyoming Street to Tioga Street for several hours following the shooting.
