Disnime Mitchell Obituary, Death; – An inquiry into a robbery conspiracy has culminated in the arrest of four individuals, while one suspect was shot and killed by law enforcement. Court documents reveal that several of the apprehended individuals confessed to orchestrating and participating in a robbery that occurred on February 23.

On February 24, WSAZ reported the arrest of 23-year-old Donovan Lee Brown, Jr., from Charleston, in relation to the robbery at a residence located in the 1300 block of Grant Street. Surveillance footage from the incident shows Brown and several accomplices at the victim’s home around 9:00 p.m., according to officials.

Criminal complaints indicate that as the victim attempted to return inside the residence, one of the suspects allegedly seized an AR-15 rifle that the victim was carrying. Following a struggle, the victim was shot, and the AR-15 was taken, as reported by the officers.

While receiving treatment at the hospital, the victim identified the woman captured in the surveillance footage as Nyasha Claytor. The victim informed the authorities that he had known Claytor for several years and that she had asked to buy marijuana from him on the day of the robbery.

Court documents indicate that an arrest warrant for Claytor was issued on February 26 by the Kanawha County Magistrate Court for robbery. Later that same day, Claytor was apprehended and taken to the Charleston Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

In her statement to law enforcement, Claytor acknowledged that the robbery had been premeditated during phone calls made from jail with another individual and Jaquise Jackson. Police reported that Jackson was arrested on robbery charges the following day, February 27. Jackson informed the police that he had participated in the robbery alongside Brown, Claytor, Kenneth Washington, Disnime Mitchell, and another unidentified man.

On Thursday, March 6, Disnime Mitchell was shot by police during a SWAT operation related to the robbery on Grant Street. The incident occurred on the corner of Rebecca Street and Washington Street West when Mitchell allegedly brandished a firearm, aimed it at SWAT officers, and disregarded commands to lower the weapon. After failing to comply, a SWAT officer discharged a single round, striking Mitchell.
