David Chuyeshkov Obituary, Death; – The individual who was shot and killed in a First Hill apartment complex early Wednesday morning has been identified, as authorities continue their search for the suspect who was seen fleeing the scene.

According to the King County Medical Examiner, 40-year-old David Chuyeshkov succumbed to injuries from a gunshot wound to the torso at the Tuscany Apartments in First Hill.

The Seattle Police Department has refrained from providing further details regarding the homicide, citing an “open and active investigation.”

CHS reported on the fatal incident, noting that police were dispatched to the Seneca at Summit building shortly before 1:45 AM following reports of someone shouting for help and subsequent gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Chuyeshkov inside the unit, reportedly suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. Witnesses described a male suspect fleeing the scene, identified as a Black male dressed in all black and riding a bicycle. Police were investigating nearby hospitals for the potentially injured suspect or any additional victims, but none were found. There were reports of an individual with a grazing bullet wound to the shoulder receiving treatment at the scene, although SPD did not confirm this information. Seattle Fire officials stated they were unaware of any other injuries at the location.

Residents have expressed concerns to property management regarding drug-related activities within the building.

Chuyeshkov was wanted on multiple warrants. In a November case, he faced charges for unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree, violations of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, malicious mischief, and possession of a stolen vehicle after being apprehended in a stolen KIA, which contained meth and drug paraphernalia, as well as a handgun without a serial number.

Chuyeshkov, who celebrated his 40th birthday in March, had resided in various locations, including recently on Beacon Hill, E Olive Way last year, and Mercer Island in the past, according to numerous court records. He proved challenging for the legal system to manage.
