Darius Towns Obituary, Death;- A shooting incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning at the Westside Townhomes in Winter Garden, resulting in one fatality and one injury, according to police reports.
At 12:36 a.m. on Tuesday, law enforcement officials responded to a shooting investigation at the Westside Townhomes, located at 1054 Dolphin Drive in Winter Garden. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. They noted a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the residence and observed several spent shell casings on the premises.
Investigators concluded that two individuals approached the residence and discharged multiple rounds inside. Surveillance footage from the scene captured another individual, whose role remains unclear, fleeing the premises with items taken from the crime scene.
Both victims were transported to a medical facility. Authorities confirmed that one of the victims, identified as 25-year-old Darius Towns, succumbed to his injuries. The other individual is reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators have identified multiple witnesses present at the scene; however, they are currently uncooperative and have provided minimal information. Law enforcement continues to pursue one suspect who escaped the shooting scene.
