Damon Phares Obituary, Death; – Delaware State Police have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life on I-95 near New Castle on Tuesday night while attempting to traverse the interstate. Damon Phares, aged 49, was in the process of crossing from the left shoulder, where his disabled vehicle was situated, to the right shoulder around 9 p.m.
He was nearly across the roadway when he was struck by a tractor-trailer that was traveling in the right lane, according to police reports. Phares was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 52-year-old resident of Milford, sustained no injuries.
