Daily Jackson Obituary, Death; – New Haven police have confirmed the identity of the teenager who was fatally shot in a drive-by incident on Tuesday evening in the Newhallville area as 17-year-old Daily Jackson, a resident of the city.
Authorities indicated that surveillance footage captured an individual firing at Jackson while he was walking along Shelton Avenue, suggesting that the shooting was premeditated.
The incident was reported shortly after 6:41 p.m. on Tuesday, when law enforcement was summoned to the intersection of Shelton Avenue and Huntington Street regarding a shooting victim, as stated by Officer Christian Bruckhart, a spokesperson for the New Haven police. He noted that 911 callers described the victim lying in a driveway and “suffering from a gunshot wound.”
Emergency responders arrived promptly and administered medical assistance to Jackson before he was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Bruckhart. He also mentioned that the family of the teenager has been informed of his passing.
